Passports:
To enter Azerbaijan, a passport valid for at least three months after
the date of visa expiry is required by all nationals referred to in
the chart above.
Visas:
Visas are required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.
You usually need to apply for this in advance. In special cases (eg
family bereavement of if visiting a high-level dignitary), foreigners
may obtain a visa on arrival in Azerbaijan; contact the embassy for
details of eligibility.
Nationals not referred to in the chart above are advised to contact
the embassy to check visa requirements.
Visa note:
You must obtain a letter of invitation before applying for a visa, for
example from your hotel or tour operator.
Be careful not to overstay your visa, or you will need to pay a fine
and obtain an exit permit from the State Migration Service.
Note also that foreigners are required to register with the local
police station within three days of arrival. In most cases, your hotel
will make the registration on your behalf, but if you are staying in
an apartment or private accommodation, you must do this yourself.
Types and cost:
Prices vary depending on type of visa and nationality of the
applicant. Australian nationals: (single-entry) £40; (multiple-entry)
£240. Canadian nationals: (single- and multiple-entry) £70. USA
nationals: (single- and multiple-entry) £105. UK nationals:
(single-entry) £76; (multiple-entry) £265. Prices vary for nationals
from the EU; contact the embassy for details.
Validity:
Single-entry visas: valid for 90 days from the date of issue for stays
of up to 30 days.
Multiple-entry visas: valid for 12 months from the date of issue for
stays of up to 90 days or 180 days in total, depending on the visa
category.
If entering as a tourist, you are only eligible for a single-entry
visa.
